The TFG Cheese & Crackers Trail Races
The event takes place in the Peak District on 1 November 2026 with event HQ at Hartington Village Hall. It offers two fully waymarked trail routes that pass through Beresford, Wolfscote and Biggin Dale, and include sections on the Tissington Trail. The finish is on the trail opposite Hartington YHA, with return to the village hall for post-race refreshments.
Distances and ascent:
- 8.4 km route, 135 m ascent.
- 16.4 km route, 290 m ascent.
The organiser operates a small group waved start approach with entrants allocated a 10 minute start window to spread runners on the trails and at viewpoints. Participants must be 18 or older. Long course runners are required to carry mandatory kit. Short course runners must wear kit appropriate for the terrain and conditions; the organiser provides full kit details. The event is held under UK Athletics rules and is licensed by the Trail Running Association.
After the race the organiser provides hot drinks and a variety of snacks including samples of locally made cheeses. Entrants may collect a complimentary event goodie bag from the Hartington Cheese Shop containing a cheese, crackers and a 5 cl bottle of port.
