The TFG Cheese & Crackers Trail takes place on Sunday 2 November 2025 in Hartington, Peak District. The event base is Hartington Village Hall (SK17 0AP). Distances offered:
- 8.4 km (short, 135 m ascent)
- 16.4 km (long, 290 m ascent)
Participants must be 18 or older. Entries open 6 August 2025 and close 31 October 2025. Entry numbers listed are 135 participants. Entry fees vary by distance and affiliation, for example affiliated 16.4 km £37 and unaffiliated 16.4 km £39.
Course and services
Both routes are fully waymarked and use a small group waved start model with a selectable 10 minute start window to spread runners on the trails. The routes include views of Beresford, Wolfscote and Biggin Dale; the long route covers more of Wolfscote Dale and a climb to the Tissington Trail. Runners finish on the trail opposite Hartington YHA and return to Hartington Village Hall for hot drinks and snacks, including samples of local cheese. A complimentary goodie bag includes a farmhouse cheddar, black pepper crackers and a 5 cl bottle of port.
The long course requires mandatory kit; the short course requires kit appropriate for terrain and conditions. The event is held under UK Athletics rules and is licensed by the Trail Running Association. A proportion of entry fees is allocated to local businesses and charities.
