The Sussex Beer Mile
The Sussex Beer Mile is a beer-mile event organised by Sussex Trail Events and scheduled for 25 July 2026. The event uses a grass track at a new venue in 2026 and includes a licensed bar. The location for car parking, registration and the race start is in Ferring near Worthing, West Sussex.
The event follows traditional beer mile format: one beer and one lap, repeated four times. Competitors may enter as solos or as teams, with team entries allowing one lap and one beer per runner. A cup will be awarded to the best team, who will be named the Beer Kings of Sussex.
The event follows official beer mile rules: the track must be 400 metres, drinks must be in 335 ml bottles or cans, and they must be 5% alcohol by volume or above. The organiser provides bag storage, a fully marked route, a referee, a beer mile memento, and a large sick bucket. There are no changing facilities, so participants should arrive dressed ready to run.
