Event overview
The Spring Rising is the 4th annual community running event organized by the Oviedo Run Club. It is scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2026, in Oviedo, Florida. The event benefits underfunded educational gardens in local schools; a portion of registration fees is allocated to seeds, soil and supplies for those gardens.
The event includes a post-race Garden and Plant Expo featuring local gardening clubs, farms and nurseries that offer gardening advice, plant cuttings and seeds. Each finisher will receive a non-disposable finisher award sourced from local businesses. Race packets include practical items and a commemorative race shirt. The event operates with green practices such as compostable water cups, on-site recycling and reusable race-packet contents.
The event also runs a food drive; collected items will be donated to HOPE Helps, Inc. and local public school food pantries.
Location and course
The race start and finish are at First United Methodist Church Oviedo, 263 King St., Oviedo, FL 32765. The course is traditionally an out-and-back route that follows the Cross Seminole Trail and passes several Oviedo landmarks. The trail was previously a railroad that supported the local watercress and celery industry. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
