The Sparkle Run
The Sparkle Run is a 5k held on Sunday, May 3, 2026 in Ankeny, IA at the DMACC Ankeny Campus main parking lot. The event is presented in honor of a child who passed away at age 11 from complications from leukemia and raises funds for organizations that support children and families facing cancer and other life threatening illnesses.

Proceeds for 2026 will benefit the Therapy Dog Program at Blank Children’s Hospital and the ACS PAWS Program at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children.
