The Southern Hills Triathlon
The Southern Hills Triathlon is held at Angostura Recreation Area in the Black Hills, south of Hot Springs, South Dakota. The venue includes a sandy beach swim area at Breakers Beach, a rolling bike course through neighboring ranch land, and a scenic run path along the lake shore. Packet pick-up takes place at the race transition area at Breakers Beach.
Food and beverages are available on race day. Organizers will provide grilled cheese sandwiches for finishers at the food area. Medals are awarded to all youth and adult finishers. Adult age groups receive First, Second, and Third Place awards, and First Place Overall awards are given for the Olympic and Sprint distances.
The event is presented in cooperation with South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks, the Angostura State Recreation Area, and the Friends of the Library in Hot Springs.
