Event Overview
The Short's Shortest Marathon is a unique running event held in Elk Rapids, Michigan. Unlike a traditional marathon, this course covers exactly 262 feet. The dash takes place in and around the Short’s Brewing Company production campus, concluding at the Pull Barn Tap Room.
The event is designed as a humorous take on professional racing, offering a short distance that is functionally a dash. Despite the brief distance, a hydration aid station is positioned at the midpoint of the course. The finish line features a celebratory atmosphere with photo opportunities and music.
This event serves as a fundraiser, with all proceeds donated to the TART Trails' Nakwema Trailway project. Additionally, the venue contributes one dollar from every pint sold on the day of the event to the same cause.
Participants receive several items as part of their registration:
- 262 feet dash
- Official short-sleeved commemorative t-shirt
- Finisher medal
- Race bib number
- Commemorative race cup
