Event
The Running Rugger 5K is a 5k run held on March 14, 2026, in Seattle at 4001 E Stevens Way NE (University of Washington area). The event is organized by the UW Womxn's Rugby Club. The event is open to UW students, prospective students, alumni, friends and family, people not affiliated with UW, runners, walkers and other participants who want to complete the course in any style.
Course and logistics
The course begins at the HUB patio outside the Husky Union Building, continues through Rainier Vista, follows the Burke-Gilman trail and goes around the Union Bay Natural Area. The route is an out-and-back with a waterfront loop at the halfway point. Members of the UW Womxn's Rugby Club will be stationed around the course to guide and assist participants. All race entry fees and donations will support the club for gear, game and referee and travel expenses, and pay-to-play fees aimed at improving access and inclusion.
