The Round Res (Relay)
The Round Res is a three-person relay event held at Scammonden Water, using a roughly 5 km route around the reservoir in a clockwise direction. The event is organised by Runable and takes place from the top car park at Sledge Gate, Scammonden, HD3 3FT.
Entry is by teams of three runners. Organisers expect clubs to enter teams composed from across their membership and allow multiple teams per club. Categories include men's and ladies teams and places are limited to 45 teams. There is no entry on the day.
Distances per team member:
- Runner 1 - 15 km
- Runner 2 - 10 km
- Runner 3 - 5 km
Race format follows a staged handover. Lap 1 is run by runner 1 alone, who then picks up runner 2. Lap 2 is run by runners 1 and 2, who then pick up runner 3. Lap 3 is run by all three team members together and they cross the finish line as a group.
Logistics include live GPS tracking for each team with a tracking station during the event, issued race batons at registration, and a baggage store next to registration. A trophy is listed for the first team overall. Pizza is available at the finish and orders must be placed by Friday 16th at 20:00.
