The Round Res
The Round Res is a three person relay based on a 5 km route around Scammonden Water near Huddersfield. The event uses the reservoir loop for sequential handovers so that each team member covers a different total distance before the final lap.
Teams consist of three runners with the following legs:
- Runner 1: 15 km
- Runner 2: 10 km
- Runner 3: 5 km
Lap structure is fixed. On lap 1 the first runner runs alone and meets the second runner at the handover point. On lap 2 the first and second runners run together and pick up the third runner at the end of that lap. Lap 3 is completed by all three runners together and they cross the finish line as a group.
Logistics include on arrival registration, race batons issued at registration and a baggage store located next to registration. Each team receives live GPS tracking during the event. Entry is limited to a set number of teams and there is no entry on the day. Awards include prizes for first all male, first all female and first mixed teams, plus a trophy for the overall winning team. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
