The Round 100
The Round 100 is a 100 mile trail ultra that follows the waymarked Leicestershire Round, a route that circles the county through rolling countryside, ancient trails, farmland, woodland, country lanes and riverside paths. The event stages its start and finish at Beacon Hill Country Park, Loughborough. This is the inaugural solo running of the route as a complete ultra distance.
The event is offered as a solo ultra or a team relay of four runners. Relay teams must make changeovers only at designated checkpoints and each team member must complete a minimum of 20 miles to qualify for a finisher medal. Only during the final mile may more than one team member be on the course together. All participants must carry mandatory kit at all times.
Support on course includes nine stocked checkpoints providing drinks, sandwiches, salted potatoes, fruit and snacks, and a medic, first responder or first aider at each checkpoint. The event has professional medical cover, live GPS race tracking, a spectator tracking site, free race day photography and a TR100 finisher's buckle. A 32 hour overall time limit applies and checkpoint cutoffs will be strictly enforced; full checkpoint details are to be confirmed.
Entry requirements include a minimum age of 20 on race day, good health and prior completion of a marathon. Drop bag dimensions are limited to 40cm x 35cm x 20cm for each bag. The Round 100 is an official UTMB Index Race in the 100M category and offers discounted charity entries in partnership with LOROS Hospice subject to fundraising pledges.
