About the race
The Rolley Coaster is a trail running event held at Rolley Lake Provincial Park in Mission, British Columbia. The primary format is an 8-hour loop event where participants navigate an 8 km course. Runners have the flexibility to complete a single lap or continue for the full duration to achieve as many loops as possible.
The course features a variety of terrain, including wide dirt trails and technical single track. Each lap includes 344 meters of ascent and 347 meters of descent, passing through forests, over footbridges, and near waterfalls. Due to technical sections, the course is not suitable for strollers or any wheels.
Available distances and categories include:
- 8 km Loops: An individual challenge lasting up to 8 hours.
- 8-Hour Relay: A team option for two people to split the time.
- 1k Fun Run: A non-technical course for all ages.
- Virtual Event: An option to participate from any location.
The event serves to support and raise funds for the Mission Search and Rescue (SAR) Team. A central aid station is located at the start and finish line, which participants pass every 8 km. This station provides water, electrolyte drinks, and various snacks. The event operates under a cupless policy, requiring runners to carry their own reusable containers. Dogs are permitted in the park on a leash but are not allowed to participate in the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
