The Rising in Oviedo
The Rising is a community running event in Oviedo, Florida held on October 31, 2026. The event is organized by the Oviedo Run Club and uses a course that begins in front of the Historic Sanctuary at First United Methodist Church and follows the Cross Seminole Trail for out and back distances.
The event program includes:
- The Rising 5K Run/Walk
- The Rising Double Dare 10K
- Kid Fun Run up to one mile
- Virtual Run
- Race Volunteer option with costume participation
The Kids Fun Run is under one mile and follows a canopied road. Cash awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in both the 5K and 10K. Finishers receive awards and age group prizes are given in five year increments. Area schools can register as teams and compete for grants awarded to largest schools in attendance.
The Rising reports donating funds to local charities, including HopeHelps, Inc. and The Oviedo Preservation Project. Event sustainability measures include compostable water cups, on site recycling, and race packets designed to contain usable items. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
