About the race
The Rising is a community running event organized by the Oviedo Run Club in Oviedo, Florida on October 31, 2026. The event is based at First United Methodist Church Oviedo at 263 King St., in front of the Historic Sanctuary.
The course follows the Cross Seminole Trail as an out and back for the 5K and 10K distances. The Kids Fun Run is under a mile and follows a tree canopied road. A virtual run option is offered and virtual participants receive a mailed packet prior to race day.

- 10K 6.2 miles
- Kid Fun Run up to 1 mile
- Virtual 3.1 miles
The Rising raises funds each year to support local charities such as HopeHelps, Inc. and The Oviedo Preservation Project. Area schools are encouraged to enter as teams and the largest schools in attendance may win grants.
Awards include cash prizes for the top three male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K. Finisher awards and age group awards in five year increments are also presented. Event sustainability measures include compostable water cups, on site recycling, and race packets designed to include usable items. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
