The Rifleman Run 5K Run/Walk
The Rifleman Run 5K Run/Walk is the 2nd annual event held on September 19, 2026, in Center Moriches, New York. The event is presented around Victory Post #414 VFW on Main Street and marks a community observance of the 250th anniversary of American independence.
The course begins and ends at Victory Post #414 VFW on Main Street. The 5K route winds through neighborhood streets, passes toward Moriches Bay, and concludes with a final sprint down Main Street.

All proceeds benefit Victory Post #414 and local veterans and military families. Post-race activities at the VFW include refreshments, music, and a cash bar.
Awards are presented after the race at the VFW. Awards include top overall male and female, stroller division top male and female, and age group awards for the top three male and female in each age group. Age group categories are 14 and under; 15–19; 20–24; 25–29; 30–34; 35–39; 40–49; 50–59; 60–69; 70–79; and 80 and over.
Giveaways include event T-shirts for the first 100 registered participants. Registration fees are listed for each event and registration opens and closes on the dates published by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
