The Red Dress Run in Thunder Bay
This is the second annual Red Dress Run held on Red Dress Day, a nationally recognized day in Canada. The in-person event takes place at Boulevard Lake in Thunder Bay and runs for about two hours.
The run is presented as an act of allyship and remembrance for Missing and Murdered people. It is framed as a way to honor and remember those affected, and as a form of resistance to ongoing colonial impacts and the continuing MMIW (Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls) crisis. The event also notes support for surviving families and references the Robinson Superior Treaty area.
A 5 km run or walk is offered; participants may choose either option and there is no pressure to complete one or the other. The organizer notes an expectation of positive spirits among those who gather on this nationally recognized day.
The refund policy allows refunds up to seven days before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
