The Rat Race 5k Run/Walk : Ann Arbor Huron High School
The Rat Race is the fourth annual fundraiser hosted by the Huron Booster Club to support all interscholastic sports at Huron High School. The event is a campus fundraiser that supports efforts to keep athletics accessible for students in the Ann Arbor School District. Huron reports a student population of nearly 1900 and a large share of Schools of Choice and low-income students in Washtenaw County.
Distances offered:
- 5k (3.1 miles) - chip timed; finisher's medals; age group awards.
- 5k Huron student/staff (3.1 miles) - discounted fee; finisher's medal; age group awards.
- Mile (1 mile) - untimed; no age group awards; possible finisher's award.
Registration opens and closes on the dates listed with separate fees for general and student/staff entries. Huron students and staff are eligible for a discounted rate and must provide school ID at check-in. The 5k is chip timed; the mile is untimed with a running clock available.
The event takes place on the Huron campus and will run rain or shine. There are no refunds. Day-of race registration, packet pickup, and check-in will be located underneath Huron's arch at the heart of campus. Parking is available in campus lots, with preferred lots by the football stadium or by the Huron Spirit Rock and tennis courts; entrances to both lots are off Fuller Road.
