The Race to Grand Oaks
The Race to Grand Oaks is a community running event held on the Grand Oaks High School campus in Spring, Texas. The event offers multiple course options that run throughout the school grounds and welcome participants connected to the GOHS feeder zone.
Available distances:
- 1K for kids 12 and under
- 2 miles run or walk
- 5K Race to Grand Oaks
The event is organized to support friendly competition among GOHS feeder schools and to channel funds to local school programs. Proceeds are shared between Grand Oaks High School and the York girls cross country and track teams. Every registered participant may cast one vote for their school of choice within the GOHS feeder zone; the three schools with the most votes will receive a monetary donation to their physical education department.
A donation option is linked to additional voting: a five dollar donation to The Youth Alliance (501c3) provides one extra vote for the donor’s selected feeder school. The Youth Alliance is a local nonprofit that works with schools to support students with food insecurities and to provide supplies and opportunities.
