The Piggyback Dash 10K, 5K, 2K
The Piggyback Dash is an annual running event in Union, Missouri, held around Autumn Hill Drive (310 Autumn Hill Drive). The event includes multiple distances and uses a rolling course through the streets of Union with a finish at the top of Autumn Hill. The 5K is a single loop course. The 10K and 5K start together; as 5K runners turn onto Autumn Hill Drive, 10K runners continue for an additional three miles through Union. Aid stations are provided along the 5K and 10K routes and post race refreshments are available.
Timing and awards differ by distance. The 10K and 5K are chip timed and include medals. The 2K fun run/walk (about 1.2 miles) is not officially timed and does not include medals. As an optional element, runners may carry another person piggyback-style up Autumn Hill to the finish for extra finisher swag; this piggyback portion is voluntary and not required to finish.
All net proceeds benefit a memorial scholarship fund administered through the Union R-XI Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization that provides scholarships to UHS seniors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
