The Parkway Mile : Burlington, VT
The Parkway Mile is a single one mile running event on June 21, 2026, held entirely on the Champlain Parkway in Burlington, with start and finish positioned just south of Home Avenue. The course is an out-and-back run on the northbound lane, open to runners and walkers able to complete the mile in under 25 minutes. Participant entry is capped at 400 registrants and the registration fee is $25.
Bibs are distributed on the morning of the event in the staging area near Home Avenue. Waves are assigned by predicted finish time to size groups consistently; expected finish ranges are sub 6:29, 6:30 to 7:59, 8:00 to 9:29, 9:30 to 11:59, and 12:00 or longer. All finishers receive a unique finisher's certificate.
Awards are presented for overall places in female, male, and nonbinary divisions, masters for female and male, and top performers in age groups 4-14, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 plus. On-site shirt printing is available in two colors and in adult and youth sizes for $20, with cash, tap card, and Venmo accepted. Secure valet bike parking will be provided in the staging area.
Strollers and pets are strictly prohibited. Spectators are permitted on the southbound lane for most of the route. Race proceeds will be donated to Committee on Temporary Shelter COTS. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
