About the race
The Ox is a 24-hour endurance running event in Lennox Head NSW on 10–11 October 2026 that raises funds for Run DIPG. Participants cover 100 km over the 24 hours by completing a 4.2 km loop every hour, on the hour. Entries are available for individuals and teams of 2 or 4; all tickets are the same price and every runner must register and purchase a ticket to take part.
Each hour a runner or a team member must complete the 4.2 km loop, with the option to tag in teammates to share laps. Participants set their own pace and have one hour to complete each lap before the next hour begins. The event supports fundraising for Run DIPG, an Australian charity focused on research, awareness and support for children and families affected by DIPG and related diffuse midline gliomas.
The Ox presents options for involvement beyond running, including cheering, volunteering and donating. The event is organised by Lennox Runners in partnership with Run DIPG and reports past fundraising totals for previous years. The event description notes it honours a child affected by DIPG and frames the event as a community effort to raise funds and awareness for the disease.
