The Osprey Sprint Triathlon
The Osprey Sprint Triathlon is an early season sprint triathlon held at The Osprey Leisure Centre in Portland. The event uses a pool swim start and a looped bike route around Portland Island with an off road run along Hamm Beach.
Distances
- Swim: 300 m pool swim with individual time trial starts.
- Bike: 15 km scenic loop around Portland including Portland Bill.
- Run: 5 km off road run along Hamm Beach.
The swim uses individual time trial starts and athletes are allocated start positions based on predicted swim speed. Registrations require an accurate swim time entered in HH:MM:SS format. Organisers describe the event as focused on smooth delivery and clear race operations.
Registration takes place on race morning only and nothing is sent in advance. At registration athletes receive the materials required to race. All athletes must read the race brief prior to race day.
Spectator facilities include the Legacy Café which will be open throughout the event serving drinks and snacks. Family and friends are welcome to spectate.
Entries are limited and may sell out before the closing date. Refund protection insurance is recommended in case injury or illness prevents participation.
