The Nun Run
The Nun Run is an annual fundraising event established in 2010 that benefits Our Lady of Solitude Monastery and the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration. The event is held at Kiwanis Park North Soccer Field, 5233 S Ash Ave, Tempe AZ 85283. A Poor Clare booth is present on site and visitors can be entered in a raffle.
The event offers multiple route options:
- 10K two loops
- 5K one loop
- 1 Mile one loop
Race day packet pick up and race day registration take place at Kiwanis Park. The race is chip timed using disposable RFID chips; timing chips are on the reverse side of the race number and race numbers should be pinned to the front of the shirt and worn over the belly button. Commemorative T-shirts are available for purchase and will be mailed during the week following the race.
Registration fees vary by date and include a race day registration fee. A fixed registration fee of $15 applies to children ages 12 and under. T-shirts can be ordered separately for $30 including shipping.
Awards are given for the 5K and 10K. Both distances recognize the top three male and female overall finishers. Age group awards for the 5K cover ages 0-4 through 90 plus; 10K age groups start at 10-14 and continue through 90 plus. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
