The Nun Run
The Nun Run is an annual fundraiser hosted by the Poor Clares, now entering its 17th year. Held at Kiwanis Park in Tempe, Arizona, the event takes place at the North Soccer Field and offers multiple distances for participants. The event serves as the primary annual fundraising effort for the sisters.
Participants can choose from three different course options:
- 10 km: A two-loop course.
- 5 km: A single-loop course.
- 1 Mile: A single-loop walk.
The event utilizes electronic chip timing with disposable sensors attached to the back of the race numbers. For those unable to attend the physical location, a shirt-only option is available. The venue features a dedicated booth where participants can meet the sisters and enter a raffle.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers overall in both the 5 km and 10 km categories. Additionally, age group awards are provided for several brackets, ranging from young children to participants over 90 years old. Registration is available in advance or on the morning of the event, with specific pricing tiers for adults and children. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
