The Nun Run - Tempe, Arizona
The Nun Run is an annual fundraising event that benefits Our Lady of Solitude Monastery and the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration. The event is held at Kiwanis Park North Soccer Field, 5233 S Ash Ave, Tempe AZ 85283.
Race distances:
- 10K Run (two loops)
- 5K Run/Walk (one loop)
- 1-Mile Walk (one loop)
Routes are looped courses with the 10K consisting of two laps and the shorter distances one lap each. Timing uses disposable RFID chip technology; chips are on the reverse side of the race number and numbers should be pinned to the front of the shirt. Packet pickup and race day registration take place at Kiwanis Park. A confirmation email is sent to participants a few days before the event.
Entry fees increase by date, with early registration discounted and a separate fixed fee for children 12 and under. A commemorative T-shirt can be ordered for purchase and will be mailed after the event. There is a Poor Clares booth on site where attendees can meet the sisters and enter a raffle.
Awards are given for the top three male and female overall in the 5K and 10K. Age group awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in the listed age divisions for each race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
