The Nun Run
The Nun Run is hosted by the Poor Clares and is in its 18th year. The event is described as the Poor Clares largest annual fundraiser and offers multiple course distances for participants.
The venue is Kiwanis Park North Soccer Field in Tempe, Arizona, at 5233 S Ash Ave, Tempe AZ 85283.
Distances offered:
- 10 km, two loops
- 5 km, one loop
- 1 mile, one loop
Course and race services include chip timing using disposable RFID technology. Timing chips are located on the reverse side of the race number; race numbers should be worn on the front of the shirt and positioned over the belly button. Packet pickup at Kiwanis Park provides the race number, timing chip and shirt. There is a T shirt only option and shirts will be mailed the week of March 9 for those not attending in person.
Entry fees vary by registration date and range from $30 to $55 for adults. Children 18 and under have a reduced fee of $15 when registering before race day and $30 on race day. Awards are offered for the 5 km and 10 km; both include top three male and female overall placings and age group awards. 5 km age groups begin at 0 to 4 and extend to 90 plus. 10 km age groups begin at 10 to 14 and extend to 90 plus.
A Poor Clare booth will be on site where participants can meet the sisters and enter a raffle. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
