The Next Loop 50K, 50M, 100K, 100M Challenge : Pinnacle Mountain State Park
The event is a loop based ultra held at Pinnacle Mountain State Park with staging, start and aid at the Big Maumelle Pavilion and access to the Coachwhip Trail system. The course uses an approximately 3.5 mile loop that runners repeat until they reach their chosen distance. The loop returns to a central hub each lap.
A central aid station at the pavilion is stocked with water, electrolytes and endurance friendly nutrition. The pavilion provides shade and fans for the staging area. Personal crew access is permitted in a designated area and runners can access the aid station each lap.
Participant numbers are limited to 30 runners across all distances. The event uses continuous running format so entrants complete repeated loops until they reach their distance. Cutoffs vary by distance; for example, the 50 mile day option has a 12 hour cutoff, the 50 mile night option has a 13 hour cutoff, and the longer events use multi hour cutoffs up to 32 hours.
Recommended equipment includes a hydration system, trail shoes suitable for mixed dirt trail and rolling terrain, headlamp and personal nutrition for night runners. All participants must stay on marked trails, follow park rules and carry out any litter. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
