The Moore & Giles Virginia 10 Miler marks its 52nd running in Lynchburg, Virginia. The Lynchburg Road Runners Club, founded in 1973 to organize the original race, continues to steward the event. The weekend accommodates in person and virtual participation and typically draws more than 3,500 runners.

The 10 Miler course proceeds north on Langhorne Road for three miles with an initial downhill section, then climbs to Rivermont Terrace before turning onto Rivermont Avenue and passing Randolph College. The route continues to Riverside Park along the James River, returns the same way, and finishes with a 1.5 mile ascent known as Farm Basket Hill.

The 4.3 mile run and walk use a trail extension and the Langhorne Road Bridge, pass Cranehill and Linkhorne Middle School, follow the Blackwater Creek Bikeway and Awareness Garden, rejoin Langhorne Road, and finish at E.C. Glass High School, returning up Farm Basket Hill.

Both the 10 Miler and the 4 plus mile events have a 2.5 hour time limit and intermediate course cutoffs. Packet pickup occurs in the days before the race at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex and on race day at E.C. Glass High School. Commemorative finisher medals are awarded to finishers of the 10 Miler and 4 plus mile events; event shirts are guaranteed for registrations received on or before September 1 and extras are available at packet pickup.

Rules note that strollers are prohibited except as required by ADA, pets are not allowed, and personal music devices and umbrellas are not permitted. Live music is staged along the 10 Miler course with more than five stations expected. A corporate team competition is available to sponsors with three team categories and scoring based on the cumulative time of the top five team finishers; corporate team entries close September 15, 2026.
