Event
The Moore & Giles Virginia 10 Miler takes place in Lynchburg, VA on September 26, 2026. The event is organized by the Lynchburg Road Runners Club and typically attracts more than 3,500 runners. The weekend includes in-person and virtual options for the main distances and related events:
- 10 miles (in-person and virtual)
- 4.3 miles (in-person and virtual)
Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. Commemorative finisher medals are awarded to all finishers of the 10 Miler and the 4+ Mile events. Event T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations received on or before September 1; later registrants are not guaranteed shirts and extras are available at packet pickup on a first-come basis. Time limits for both the 10 Miler and the 4+ Miler are 2.5 hours.
A Corporate Team Competition for the 10 Miler is available only to corporate sponsors. Teams are scored by the cumulative time of the best five finishers; entries for corporate teams are accepted until September 15, 2026.
Course and logistics
The 10 Miler starts by proceeding north on Langhorne Road for about 3 miles, with the first 1.5 miles downhill, then a climb to Rivermont Terrace. The course continues onto Rivermont Avenue past Randolph College, through Riverside Park with views of the James River, and returns to finish by ascending Farm Basket Hill (about 1.5 miles).
The 4.3 mile run and walk follow part of the 10 Miler route, use the Langhorne Road Bridge/Blackwater Creek Bikeway trail extension, and finish at E.C. Glass High School. Packet pickup is scheduled on the days before the race and at local venues including the Liberty Indoor Track Complex and E.C. Glass High School.
