Event

The Blast 5km Series at The Meadows is a recurring lunchtime 5K run held in East Meadows Play Park, Melville Drive, Edinburgh (EH9 1ND). The course is officially measured and licensed and is described as flat. The series runs on monthly Tuesdays (except August) and is organised by Blast Running. Results are submitted to Run Britain Rankings and the event supports The Athletics Trust Scotland with a £1 donation per runner.

Entry and race details

Entry is open to runners and children aged 11 and over. Standard entry fees are £7 and £9 for non-members; a £2 insurance levy applies to non-Scottish Athletics members. Optional finisher medals are available for an additional £5. Prizes are awarded to 1st male and female in all age categories for online entries only. The event lists a maximum capacity of 250 participants. Registration accepts cash or card. Since the start of 2025 the series has donated over £850 to local organisations.
