The Flora Maverick Jurassic Coast Hike, Corfe Castle, 18 October 2026
The Flora Maverick Jurassic Coast Hike is a walking event on the Dorset section of the Jurassic Coast, starting near Corfe Castle and following open heathland toward the coastline. Two route options follow established trails and coastal features.
- 43 km Full Marathon, elevation +911 m, through Durlston Country Park and Winspit Quarry.
- 24 km Half Marathon, elevation +405 m, via the Purbeck Way past Old Harry Rocks.
Entry is available as a standard paid place or a charity fundraising place. Charity partners are Alzheimer’s Research UK, Asthma + Lung UK, Make‑A‑Wish UK, Marie Curie and Samaritans. Charity entrants agree target fundraising amounts of £400 for the Marathon and £200 for the Half Marathon. General entry fees are listed for each distance. Online entry closes 21 September 2026.
The event provides free parking, a fully marked and timed course, outposts for snacks and electrolytes, online results, event photography, a metal finisher medal and a complimentary finisher T shirt. Full Marathon participants receive a fresh lunch on route and a hot meal at the finish. The event is dog friendly; dogs must be added to the entry. Outposts will not provide prefilled water cups so participants should bring a reusable cup or bottle.
