Event Overview
The Maverick Exmoor X-Trail is a trail running event in Exmoor National Park in southwest England. The route starts at Caffyns Farm in Lynton. All routes follow the South West Coast Path, offering views of the coastline, cliffs, and sea views across to South Wales. The course passes through the Valley of Rocks and includes forested sections, rivers, and waterfalls. A portion of the entry fee is donated to CareMoor for park maintenance.
Distances
Participants can choose from five distances:
- 50k Ultra: 56 km, +2774 m
- Marathon: 42 km, +2223 m
- Half Marathon: 21 km, +1128 m
- Middle: 15 km, +803 m
- Short: 5 km, +207 m
Event Information
The event is dog-friendly, but dogs must be added to the entry. Participants are asked to bring a reusable cup or bottle, as outposts are cup-free. Free parking is available at the venue. A bag drop area, event photography, and a metal finisher's medal are provided. For the 50k Ultra and Marathon routes, runners must carry mandatory items including a waterproof jacket, mobile phone, at least 1 litre of water, an emergency blanket, and a whistle.
Outposts provide water, sweet and savoury snacks, gels, and electrolyte drinks. The number of outposts varies by distance, with five on the Ultra route and none on the Short route. Online entry closes a few days before the event, with on-the-day entries available if not sold out. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
