Event overview
The Maverick Exmoor X-Trail takes place on Saturday 2 May 2026 at Caffyns Farm, Lynton in Exmoor National Park, Devon, UK. The event uses sections of the South West Coast Path and includes coastal cliffs, the Valley of Rocks, forested sections, rivers and waterfalls. The courses feature technical terrain with long steep climbs and descents. The organiser works with Exmoor National Park and a portion of entry fees is donated to CareMoor. Free parking is provided at the venue. The event is dog friendly; dogs must be added to an entry to take part.
Routes and logistics
Available routes:
- 50k Ultra: 56 km (+2774 m)
- Marathon: 42 km (+2223 m)
- Half Marathon: 21 km (+1128 m)
- Middle: 15 km (+803 m)
- Short: 5 km (+207 m)
Outposts:
- Ultra: 5 outposts; Marathon: 4 outposts; Half: 2 outposts; Middle: 1 outpost; Short: no outpost.
- Outposts provide snacks, gels and electrolyte drink. Pre-filled disposable cups are not provided; runners should carry a reusable cup or bottle.
Mandatory and recommended items: Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
- For 50k Ultra and Marathon routes: waterproof jacket, mobile phone, at least 800 calories of food, minimum 1 litre water, self-adhesive bandage, whistle, foil blanket, hat or buff, reusable cup and GPX of the route.
- Runners are strongly recommended not to wear headphones.
