The Maverick Dorset Trail 2026
The event takes place at Wilkswood Farm near Swanage in Dorset on 13 June 2026. It is organised by Maverick Race and uses local coastal trails around the Jurassic coastline.
The course includes technical rocky coastal sections with steep climbs and descents and increased elevation compared with previous years. Runners will pass coastal features such as caves and seabird colonies.
Routes
- Half Marathon: 23 km, elevation gain +535 m
- Middle: 13 km, elevation gain +318 m
- Short: 7 km, elevation gain +161 m
Outpost and on course provisions are route dependent. The Short route has no outpost. The Middle route has one outpost at approximately 10 km. The Half Marathon has two outposts at approximately 10 km and 19 km. Outposts provide a range of sweet and savoury snacks, gels and electrolyte drink. There will not be pre filled water cups at outposts; runners are asked to use a reusable cup or bottle with self serve water barrels.
Facilities and event services include free parking at the venue, a fully marked and timed course, online results, event photography, a bag drop area and a metal finishers medal. Toilets are available only within the start and finish area. The event is dog friendly provided a dog is added to the entry. Organisers recommend not wearing headphones and suggest carrying a phone, trail shoes, a rain coat and a reusable cup or bottle. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
