The Maverick Dorset Trail 2026
The Maverick Dorset Trail is a one-day trail running event held at Wilkswood Farm near Acton Field Camping Site, Swanage, Dorset. Dog entries have sold out. The course follows coastal and inland trails approaching the Jurassic coastline, with rocky technical sections, seabird and cave-lined coastal features, and increased elevation compared with previous years.
Three measured route options are offered:
- Half Marathon: 23 km, +535 m elevation
- Middle: 13 km, +318 m elevation
- Short: 7 km, +161 m elevation
Outpost provision varies by route: no outpost on the Short route, one outpost on the Middle route at approximately 10 km, and two outposts on the Half Marathon at approximately 10 km and 19 km. Outposts provide snacks, gels and electrolyte drink and are intended as top-ups for supplies carried by participants. There are no toilets along the running routes; facilities are available in the start and finish area.
Event services include free parking, a fully marked and timed course, online results, event photography, food and drink, a bag drop area, and a metal finishers medal. Online entry closes on 11 June 2026 at 11am. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult. The organisers request all runners finish by 2pm to reduce marshal time on course.
