THE LONGEST LIGHT
THE LONGEST LIGHT is an endurance event organized by Phase One Missions in Spokane, WA. The event uses Phase One training grounds staged across multiple areas in Spokane, including the Reardan Cross Country track in Seven Mile, Riverside State Park, and Mt Spokane State Park. The primary course is a loop of 1.56 miles per lap centered near 12099-11601 West 7-Mile Road, Spokane.
Events include:
- 101 MILE RUN
- 100 KILOMETER
- 50 KILOMETER
- 10K RUN/RUCK
- Kiddo Sprint the Hill
Race formats and notable rules are specified for each event. The 101 MILE RUN is 65 laps for a total of 101.4 miles; pacers are allowed; there is a midnight checkpoint requiring runners to be 50 miles in and a 32 hour total cutoff. The 100 KILOMETER event is 40 laps with a midnight checkpoint requiring 45 miles in and a 24 hour total cutoff. The 50 KILOMETER is 20 laps. The 10K Run/Ruck is 4 laps totaling about 6.24 miles; ruck weight must not exceed 45 pounds. Kid participants run to a nearby hill and back for about 0.6 miles.
Support and logistics include one semi-stocked aid station offering Tailwind Endurance Fuel, NeverSecond C30 gels, 1st Phorm protein bars and energy drinks, plus water and snacks. Runners are encouraged to be self sufficient and bring headlamp, running gear, food, water, and electrolytes. Crew access provides tent space in a designated parking section. The event currently has a no refund policy. Volunteer time can reduce entry fees according to posted volunteer credits. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
