The Lighthouse 5k Run & Fun Walk
The Lighthouse 5k Run and Kids Fun Walk is a community running event held at The Valley Lighthouse in Lykens, Pennsylvania. The main route is a flat, fast trail that passes through a short section of Lykens and continues to Lykens Glen Park along Rattling Creek. The Kids Fun Run is a one-mile loop around the town.
Distances offered:
- 3.1 miles 5K run
- 3.1 miles virtual 5K
- 1 mile virtual 1-mile
- 1 mile kids fun run
Prizes and awards are provided for overall and age-group placings. Overall male and female winners receive a medal, trophy and a $500 gift card. Top three male and female finishers in each 5K age group receive medals and gift-card prizes. Little Lights Beam age-group placers receive medals.
All 5K participants receive a swag bag, disposable chip timing, posted race results, awards ceremony for placers, post-race nutrition, and a chance to win prize giveaways. Registrations received before August 1 are guaranteed the official event T-shirt and goodie bag; registrations after that date receive a goodie bag but a shirt is not guaranteed.
A post-race gathering at The Valley Lighthouse includes free all-beef hot dogs with fixings, water, and assorted foods. Entry fees vary by date and category. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
