The Leeds Winter Warmer Run at Temple Newsam in Leeds offers three distances: 5k, 10k and Half marathon. The event supports the charity Shelter; fundraising is optional and there is no minimum target. Course, facilities and travel
The course is hilly and runs on paths and trail around Temple Newsam. Distances are set out as:
- 5k - one lap
- 10k - two laps
- Half marathon - four laps plus an initial 1.6 km section
Paths and farm sections may be very muddy; trail shoes are recommended. Off-road buggies are allowed; the course is not suitable for wheelchair users. Marshals will be positioned around the route. Water is provided at the start, finish and at the 5k section for 10k runners; only cupped water is supplied. Chip timing is used with the timing chip on the race bib and instant results are published via ResultsBase. Bag storage and toilet facilities are available near the event hub. The nearest train station is Cross Gates, about 1.5 miles away; several car parks serve Temple Newsam, with some paid parking and designated disabled spaces.
