THE LAP Windermere Ultra Clockwise
THE LAP is a fully signposted ultra around Lake Windermere of approximately 47 miles (about 75 km). The event is open to runners and walkers and uses over 2,000 route marking arrows, a provided GPX file, a waterproof foldable OS map and live GPS tracking for safety and spectator viewing.
Race headquarters is at Low Cunsey Farm, Cunsey, Ambleside, Cumbria LA22 0LU. Parking is available beside HQ on grass; camping is offered on site and a campsite booking system is used when full. Registration takes place in person on the Friday before the race only and competitors must register at HQ to receive their number, tracker and drop bag tags.
There are six staffed feed and aid stations around the route, with a halfway aid station at Troutbeck that includes a shoe bag drop and hot pizza. Competitors must carry the required kit list at all times; random kit checks are enforced and missing mandatory items can result in disqualification. Trackers remain the property of the event partner and must be attached and returned as instructed.
The event enforces a 24 hour overall time limit and cutoffs at feed stations. Outside assistance, pacers and supporters entering feed stations are not permitted. All finishers receive a bespoke wooden finisher medal and a finishers meal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
