Event overview

THE LAP - Windermere Ultra Clockwise is a 47 mile / 75K fully way-marked trail ultra held on 9-10 May 2026 at Low Cunsey Farm, Cunsey, Ambleside, Cumbria (LA22 0LU). The event gives participants 24 hours to circumnavigate Lake Windermere. It is open to runners and walkers and the minimum age is 16. Entries for this event are full. The published entry fee was £135.

Course and logistics

The route keeps the lake on the right for the clockwise option and is described as predominantly on tracks, trail and single track, with some steeper fell paths and occasional short sections of quiet country road. The route is fully signposted with over 2,000 route marking arrows. Participants receive a GPS tracker, a map and a GPX file; a recce GPX is attached to the entry confirmation and the final event GPX with permissive routes is sent before the event. There are five fully stocked feed stations, a halfway aid station with bag drop, a finishers meal provided to everyone who finishes, and a locally sourced finishers medal.
