THE LAP - Windermere Ultra Clockwise
THE LAP is a fully way marked 47 miles (approximately 75 km) trail ultra that circumnavigates Lake Windermere. The event scheduled for 9 to 10 May 2026 is open to both runners and walkers and allows 24 hours to complete the route.
The course keeps close to the lakeshore and uses predominantly tracks, trail and single track, with some steeper fell paths and short sections of quiet country road. It is described as a low level Lakes route that visits a number of viewpoints across the Lake District fells.
Route support includes over 2,000 route marking arrows, a GPS tracker, a map and GPX files. There are five fully stocked feed stations and a halfway aid station with bag drop for spare shoes. All finishers receive a locally sourced medal and a finishers meal regardless of arrival time.
