The Land We Love Run
The Land We Love Run is an athletic event held in Barrington, Illinois, hosted by the Village of Barrington Hills and Cuba Township. The event serves as a tribute to America's birthday and acts as a fundraiser for Folds of Honor and the Cuba Township Food Pantry. Participants can choose between three primary distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 10K Run
- 2-Mile Walk
The 5K and 10K courses are officially certified routes. For the running categories, age group medals are awarded to participants in various brackets, starting from 10 and under up to 60 and over. Detailed age categories include 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50-59 years.
Participants have the option to enter as individuals or form teams. Teams must consist of at least three members and all members of a specific team must register for the same race distance. Special registration pricing is available for veterans and first responders. Those who register by June 15 are guaranteed a race shirt.
The event operations are based at the Cuba Township Offices on West Cuba Road. Packet pickup is available on designated days prior to the event or on the morning of the race. In addition to registration fees, the event collects food and monetary donations for the local food pantry to support residents in need.
