The Kan
The Kan is a trail running event in Mt. Spokane State Park near Spokane, Washington, on June 6, 2026. The event offers three race distances.
The courses take runners through alpine meadows, huckleberry groves, and old pine forests on trails in the Mt. Spokane Ski Park and state park. After the race, food and drinks are included with entry, featuring burritos from Old European and beer from Lumberbeard Brewing. A prize purse of $2100 is available, along with other prizes like sports massages, restaurant gift cards, and gym memberships.
Distances and key details:
- 50k: Features 6,000 feet of elevation gain. The course involves multiple loops, including trails like Trail 110, around Shadow Mountain, and climbs to the summit via the Cat Track and Northwest Passage.
- 25k: Features 3,300 feet of elevation gain. The course covers the second half of the 50k route, including a climb to the summit and trails around Day Mountain and Kit Carson.
- 10k: Features 1,600 feet of elevation gain. The course is approximately 7 miles long, taking runners to the Mt. Spokane summit and down through Bald Knob.
