Event Overview
The Izzo Run/Walk/Roll is an annual event held on the campus of Michigan State University at 325 W Shaw Lane. This athletic gathering is a collaboration between the Izzo family and Playmakers, focusing on fitness and community spirit. The event serves as a fundraiser to support an endowment for long-term charitable giving within the Mid-Michigan area.
Participants can choose from several distances and participation methods:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 5K Roll for participants with physical disabilities
- 1/2 K Walk/Roll for walkers and assistive device users
- Kids' Sprint covering 100m
- Kids' 1/2 Mile
- Virtual Izzo for remote participation from any location
The Roll division is specifically designed for individuals using hand cycles, wheelchairs, or walking-assistive devices. While strollers are permitted in specific events like the 5K Run/Walk and the 1/2 Mile Walk/Roll, other wheeled items such as bicycles, rollerblades, and scooters are not allowed on the course.
The virtual option allows participants to complete their chosen distance independently. Registration for this category includes a participant shirt, bib number, and medal, which are shipped to the individual. Local participants also have the option to donate to specific local charities during the registration process. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
