About the race
The Izzo Run/Walk/Roll is a one-day community event in East Lansing on the campus of Michigan State University. The program includes road and recreational events for adults, children, participants using mobility devices, and a virtual option with shipped event items.
Distances and event types:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 5K Roll
- 0.5K Walk/Roll
- Kids Sprint (100 m)
- Kids 0.5 Miles
- Virtual participation, participant distance of choice
The Roll division welcomes participants using hand cycles, wheelchairs, and walking-assistive devices. Strollers are permitted in the 5K Run/Walk and the 0.5K Walk/Roll. Other wheeled devices such as bicycles, rollerblades, and scooters are not allowed in the in-person events. Participants who use a wheelchair, hand cycle, or walking-assistive device may choose either the 5K Roll or the 0.5K Walk/Roll.
The virtual option lets participants complete their chosen distance from any location; registered virtual participants receive an event t-shirt, bib number, and medal shipped to them, with shipping included. Proceeds from the event support designated charity partners and an endowment for the organizing legacy to fund future charitable giving.
