The Itch : Ocala, FL
The Itch is a point-to-point trail 50K along the Florida National Scenic Trail Western Connector. The course begins near Lake Kerr Rd / CR-316 and finishes at the Baseline Road Trailhead in Florida Greenway Baseline Road Park (4803 SE 58th Ave). The route follows orange blazes and does not have course markers; runners are required to download the GPX course to a phone or watch and carry a phone during the event.
The race is described as a rugged wilderness route with on-course aid provided and one designated drop bag location for runners without crew. Aid stations are located roughly at MM 9.6 (Salt Springs Hwy / CR 314), MM 17.1 (NE 145th Ave Rd, drop bag location), and MM 26.2 (Marshall Swamp Trailhead / CR 314), with the finish near MM 31.1. Additional crew access points are indicated along the course.
Logistical notes include that the event is point-to-point so drop-off and pick-up arrangements are the responsibility of each runner. Organizers may consider arranging a shuttle for uncrewed runners if there is sufficient interest. Participants should plan gear and nutrition for a true wilderness trail effort and use the provided GPX files for navigation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
