The Itch : Ocala, FL
The Itch is a point-to-point 50K trail race on the Florida National Scenic Trail Western Connector in Ocala, FL. The route begins at the Lake Kerr Road / CR-316 junction and finishes at the Baseline Road Trailhead (Florida Greenway Baseline Road Park). The course runs through undeveloped forest and is unmarked by race signage; runners follow the orange blazes on the Florida Trail and must download the official GPX file to a phone or watch and carry a phone during the event.
Aid support is provided on course, including three staffed aid stations and one drop bag zone for runners without crew. Key mile markers include MM 9.6, MM 17.1 (drop bag location), MM 26.2 (Marshall Swamp Trailhead), and the finish at MM 31.1. GPS coordinates are published for the start, crew stops, aid stations, and finish to assist navigation and logistics.
The event is organized as a no-frills wilderness trail run; participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the start and finish. Organizers may consider a shuttle for uncrewed runners if there is sufficient interest. Registration documentation notes that there is no refund policy but a rollover credit equal to 75% of the entry fee can be applied toward the following year, subject to conditions.
