The Island Run - Cardigan
The Island Run is part of the Island Walk and takes place on July 4, 2026, at the Cardigan & Area Baseball Complex, 4364 Chapel Rd, Cardigan, PE C0A 1G0, Canada. The route follows Section 27 of the Confederation Trail between Cardigan and Montague and covers a 12 km distance. The event accommodates running, walking and biking.
This is a non chip-timed event, although times are recorded at the finish line. Registration includes lunch at Bogside with meat, vegetarian and gluten free options available on request. A portion of proceeds will go to the Upper Room and to PEI food banks. Event capacity is limited to 90 participants.
Race kit pickup is available on Thursday July 2 at Sporting Intentions, 190 Minna Jane Dr., Charlottetown; on-site pickup is available at the start in Cardigan on event day. Participants are responsible for their own return transportation to the start; free lifts back to the start will be offered subject to waiting.
Prizes and giveaways are provided by sponsors and include a Confederation Bridge pass, a ferry pass, sponsor prizes and gift cards. Entertainment and Island Walk merchandise will be available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
