The Island Run - Cardigan
The Island Run is the 3rd annual event hosted by Island Walk on Saturday, July 4, 2026. The route follows Section 27 of the Confederation Trail between Cardigan and Montague. The advertised distance is 12 km, and the course may be run, walked, or biked at participants' own pace.
This is a non chip-timed event that focuses on the experience and the landscape rather than timed results. After the route, the program includes lunch in Montague at Bogside and prize draws.
The PEI Roadrunners Club, an affiliate member of Sport PEI, has a mandate to promote the sport of running on Prince Edward Island and to encourage Islanders to adopt an active lifestyle.
