Event details

The Hebden 2026 is a winter long-distance walking and running event held at St Michaels Church Hall, Mytholmroyd, England. It offers two route options:

  • 22 miles
  • 15 miles

The long route includes over 4,000 feet of ascent; the short route has less ascent. The organiser states the event is not suitable for beginners. A full route description and digital mapping for use with OS maps apps and Garmin devices are available on the event website. The organiser is 12th Halifax Sea Scouts.

Course and logistics

Entry fee is £25.00 and includes refreshments at the start and en route, a meal at the finish and transport for retirees. Entrant numbers are limited to 500; a waiting list opens after the limit is reached. Transfers were allowed up to 31 December and no entry changes are permitted after 1 January. There is an enforced maximum time limit and other cut-off times.

Registration takes place at St Michaels Church Hall. Car parking is provided at Mytholmroyd Community Centre (grid ref SE011259); local bus stops and the train station are nearby. Recommended map: 1:25 000 Outdoor Leisure Map 21 - South Pennines. Entrants should carry recommended winter kit, wear appropriate clothing and have some navigational ability.
