The HEART RUN Half Marathon
The HEART RUN Half Marathon takes place at Bolsa Chica State Beach in Huntington Beach, California. The event features a flat and fast course along the coastline, offering participants scenic views of the Pacific Ocean. The race is held at Bolsa Chica State Park, with the main staging area located in Lot 25 near the corner of Warner Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway.
Participants can choose from several distances:
- Half Marathon (13.1 Miles)
- 10K
- 5K (3.1 Miles)
- Kid's Dash (200-yard Tot Trot or 600-yard youth run)
All participants receive custom finisher medals and apparel. Half marathon runners receive a premium long-sleeve finisher hoodie, while 5K and 10K participants receive a race shirt. The event includes a festival expo with various amenities, such as a DIY Valentine’s card-making station, a cookie decoration booth, and a food court offering specialty cookies, tacos, tamales, and fresh fruit.
The course is stroller-friendly and open to pets, provided they are kept on a leash. Awards are presented three deep in age categories spanning five-year increments, from age 1 up to 85 and over. Proceeds from the event benefit the Ware in the World Foundation, which supports medical supplies and education in Nepal, as well as local youth programs and food banks.
Parking is available within the State Park for a fee, payable by credit card or state pass. Limited free parking is also available in nearby Sunset Beach for those willing to walk to the event site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
