Event overview
The HEART RUN takes place on February 14, 2026, at Bolsa Chica State Park, Lot 25 (17851 Pacific Coast Hwy, Huntington Beach, CA). The event offers multiple distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- 13.1 miles (Half Marathon)
- Kid's Dash: 200 yard Tot Trot / 600 yards for ages 4 to 11
Race day includes race day registration, a February festival expo with a make-your-own-Valentine station, a children's dash, and awards ceremonies. All finishers receive a medal. 5K participants receive a shirt and half marathon finishers receive a long-sleeve zip or pullover hoodie labeled "FINISHER." Chip timing is provided by ITZ ABOUT TIME. Age-group and overall awards are given for both the 5K and the half marathon across detailed age brackets and male/female overall trophies.
Course and logistics
The half marathon course is permitted as two laps around Bolsa Chica State Park, running to Dog Beach and back. The course is described as almost all flat and runs near the beach. The 5K is an out-and-back with the turnaround near the Bolsa Chica State Beach main entrance. Parking at the state park gate requires a fee of $15 per car; additional parking is available in Sunset Beach near Warner and PCH. Public restrooms are provided at the ends of Lot 25. A small food voucher add-on and local vendors will be available at the expo. Proceeds support a foundation that provides medical, schooling, and community aid in Nepalese villages and other projects.
