Event overview
The Headcorn Half Marathon is a UKA-approved, correctly measured 13.1 mile road race that starts and finishes on Days Green in Headcorn on the main A274. The route passes Swifts Green, Smarden Bell, Egerton Forstal, Pembles Cross and Southernden before returning to Race HQ. Most of the course is fairly flat, with a small rise at 5 miles and undulations between 8.5 and 10 miles. Chip timing is provided.
Entry, facilities and records
The race is capped at 500 runners; entries have reached this cap every year since the event began in 2014. Race HQ is at Headcorn Primary School, where registration and toilets are located. Numbers and timing chips are not posted and must be collected at registration. Entry fees are listed as £23/£25, with on-the-day entries accepted subject to capacity at £30 (cash only). Online entries close on the Thursday before the race and pre-race emails are sent within 48 hours. Medals and trophies are awarded, including team and age-group trophies.
