Event Information
The Grey 5K returns in 2026 as "The Grey 5K - First Responders' Edition". This event is a 5 km run/walk taking place on May 30, 2026 at Sadler's Pond Nature Park in Essex, Ontario.
This year's edition has a special focus on inviting local first responders (fire, EMS, police) for friendly competition among services. The event is open to everyone, not just first responders.
The event is a fundraiser for the Jaida Chartier Foundation (#JaidasJourney), funding pediatric cancer research, specifically pediatric brain cancer. Last year's event raised $15,000. The registration fee includes a custom t-shirt.
This year's race route will see a slight change from the previous year. Registration opens at 8 a.m. Event sponsors include Essex County K9 Services and Essex Power Corporation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
