The Grey 5K - First Responders' Edition
The event is scheduled for May 30, 2026 at Sadler's Pond Nature Park, Forest Avenue, Essex, ON, Canada. It is a 5 km event offered as both a run and a walk. The listed registration fee for each category is CA$56.20 and the fee includes a custom T-shirt.
The 2026 edition is presented as a First Responders' Edition, powered by Empire Roofing Corporation and Essex County K9 Services. Local first response agencies are invited to compete in friendly agency-based competition among Fire, EMS, and Police. Participation is open to others as well; registration is not restricted to first responders.
Proceeds will support childhood cancer research, specifically pediatric brain cancer. The previous event raised CA$15,000 and organizers aim to exceed that amount in 2026. May is noted for its association with Brain Tumour/Cancer Month, symbolized by the grey ribbon.
The course will again use Sadler's Nature Park and Trail with a slight change to the route announced for this year.
