Event details

The Greenway Challenge takes place on Sunday 10 May 2026 in Letchworth Garden City. The event is a self-guided run around the Garden City Greenway in a clockwise direction, starting and finishing at Standalone Farm. The course is approximately 13 miles. It is described as a run rather than a race because of road crossings. The event is held under UKA rules and has a minimum age of 17.

Marshals will be positioned at road crossings but they will not stop traffic; participants are responsible for their own safety. A map, written instructions and a GPX file are provided on the event website so participants navigate the route themselves. There is a time limit of 3 hours, after which marshals will stand down. All finishers will receive a wooden medal from a Garden City company, and there will be refreshments and cake at the finish.

Entry and practical information

Entry fee is £20 until 31 December 2025 and increases to £22 from 1 January 2026. Members of clubs affiliated to their national association receive a £2 discount. All profits from the event are given to the club charity Headway Herts. Participants can amend details or transfer an entry via the link in their confirmation email. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
