The Greenway Challenge 2026

The Greenway Challenge is a self guided run around the Garden City Greenway in Letchworth Garden City on Sunday 10 May 2026. The route runs in a clockwise direction and is approximately 13 miles, starting and finishing at Standalone Farm, Wilbury Road, Letchworth Garden City SG6 4JN.

The event is organised under UKA rules and has a minimum age of 17. It is designated as a run rather than a race because the course includes road crossings. Marshals will be present at road crossings but they will not stop traffic; participants are responsible for their own safety and for following the provided route instructions.

The route is supported with a map, written instructions and a GPX file. There is a time limit of three hours, after which marshals will stand down. All finishers will receive a wooden medal produced by a Garden City company, and refreshments and cake will be available at the finish.

Entry fee is £20 with an increase to £22 from 1 January 2026. Members of clubs affiliated to their national association are eligible for a £2 discount. All profits from the event are donated to GRIT, a Hitchin based charity supporting teenagers with mental health issues. Entries may be amended or transferred via the link in the confirmation email. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
