The Green Mile 5K

The Green Mile 5K
This is the seventh annual Green Mile event in Alma, Georgia. The event is sponsored by the Southside Church of God, with proceeds benefiting the church's youth group. All races start and finish near Goldwasser Park.
The event features three races:
- A 5K that is chip-timed.
- A one-mile run, called The Green Mile, which is also chip-timed.
- A Kiddie Run for children aged 10 and under, consisting of a single loop around Goldwasser Park.
The 5K and The Green Mile are both glow runs. Participants registered by March 6, 2026, will receive glow gear. A T-shirt is included with registration for the 5K and The Green Mile if registered by that same date; the deadline for the Kiddie Run shirt is not specified. Packet pick-up is on race day only, starting at 5:30 PM.
The event schedule on March 14, 2026, is as follows: the Kiddie Run starts at 6:20 PM, The Green Mile starts at 7:00 PM, and the 5K starts at 7:30 PM. Awards are presented immediately after each race.
Awards are given to the top three male or female finishers in The Green Mile. For the 5K, the overall male and female winners each receive a $50 cash prize. Age group awards are presented three deep for male and female runners in multiple categories.
A challenge option allows participants to run both The Green Mile and the 5K consecutively, with a combined time posted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
