The Great Rat Race 2026
The Great Rat Race takes place in Watonga, Oklahoma, as part of the Watonga Cheese Festival on October 10–11, 2026. The event is centered at Bixler Hall, 111 West Main Street, with courses run on local roads. The organizers describe the course as a flat road race suitable for participants of all ages.
Distances offered include:
- 1 Mile Fun Run, free for children when accompanied by a paid adult
- 5K
- 10K
The starting line is located in front of the Noble House on Noble Street and the finish line is just south of the Noble House. The route will be marked with white arrows and volunteers will staff certain checkpoints to guide participants. Refreshments and an awards ceremony will take place after the races at the registration location.
Registration occurs at Bixler Hall. Advance registration is priced at $30 and day-of registration is $35. T-shirts are provided to adult runners with paid registration while supplies last and are limited to the first 75 registrants. If paying onsite, cash or check is accepted.
