Event overview
The Great Escape Triathlon takes place on June 13 and June 14, 2026, in Jefferson City, Missouri. This is the 10th edition of the event. It includes multiple race formats: Super Sprint, Sprint, Sprint Relay, Duathlon, Mini Escape Tri - Kids, and Mini Escape Tri - Youth. Main events and the duathlon are open to ages 13 and up. The Mini Escape Tri is split into age groups for children: ages 5 to 8 and ages 9 to 12. Course and race details
The swim takes place as a snake swim in a four-lane, 50 meter pool at Ellis Porter Riverside Park. The bike course runs on city and rural roads out to the outskirts of the new Missouri State Prison and back. The run course goes to the old historic Missouri State Penitentiary and returns to the finish line. The event offers overall prizes, finisher medals, and participant shirts.
