The race was established to raise awareness for mental health and to honor the memory of an individual who died from mental illness in November 2021. Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, May 8 (location to be announced) and on race day at the Missouri State Capitol area; the race-day packet pickup and registration location is listed as 201 W. Capital Ave, Jefferson City, MO. A host hotel is named at 610 Bolivar Street, Jefferson City, approximately 3/4 mile from the starting line.
Awards are planned for the top three overall male and female finishers in each distance, plus male and female age-group awards in these brackets: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+.
