Mental Health Awareness Event in Jefferson City
The fourth annual Capital City Race takes place at the Missouri State Capitol. This event is dedicated to raising awareness for mental health and honors the memory of Jared Palmer. The routes are designed to showcase several landmarks within the capital city.
Participants can choose from three different distances:
- 5K Race
- 10K Race
- Half Marathon
The half marathon is the first event of its distance to be held in Jefferson City. Registration fees vary depending on the chosen distance and include a race shirt, medal, bib, and a swag bag. To guarantee receipt of these items, registration must be completed by May 1, 2026.
The event provides awards for the top three overall male and female finishers in each race category. Additionally, awards are distributed across several age groups, starting from 19 and under up to 60 and older for both men and women. Free parking is available for attendees in the State of Missouri parking lots located near Missouri Boulevard and West Main Street, as well as Missouri Boulevard and West High Street.
Proceeds and donations from the event support local initiatives, including the Cole County Treatment Courts, recovery programs, and the Crisis Intervention Team Program for first responders. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
