The Great Big Cookie Run
The Great Big Cookie Run takes place on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Lansdowne Park in Ottawa. The event offers a 5 km race and a kids 1 km event. Girl Guides of Canada is the event charity partner. Registration for the 2026 event opens Friday, January 2, 2026. A costume contest will award two prizes for best costume.

Race details
Registration includes a Great Big Cookie Run medal unless the Green Bib option is chosen, a personalized race bib, professional race timing with chip times, post-race snacks and beverages, and Girl Guide cookies available on course and at the finish. Optional add-ons include a technical shirt and an iTab ribbon hanger. The Green Bib option does not include a medal and directs a portion of the registration fee to the event charity partner.
Fees listed by the organizer:
- 5K Adult: $61.86 + HST
- 5K Youth (ages 12-24): $28.13 + HST
- Kids 1K (ages 5-12): $16.88 + HST
Race bib pick up and the online registration deadline are listed as TBA. A course map is available and the route is subject to change. The Queen Elizabeth Driveway will be closed on the event date between 5th Avenue and Preston Street; street parking will be available in the Lansdowne Park area.
