About the race
The Great Big Cookie Run is a timed community running event held on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Hog's Back Park in Ottawa. The event offers two distances:
- 5 km
- 1 km for kids
Participants receive Girl Guide cookies on course and at the finish line. The event lists Girl Guides of Canada as its charity partner. A costume contest awards two prizes for standout costumes. Registration includes a Great Big Cookie Run medal unless the participant chooses the Green Bib option; the Green Bib does not include a medal and directs a portion of the registration fee to the charity partner. Registered participants receive a personalized race bib, with names printed only for registrations completed before October 15. Professional race timing with chip results is provided. Post-race snacks and beverages are available. Optional commemorative items include a technical race shirt and an iTab ribbon hanger.
Race bib pickup is organized with SAIL as the official pickup sponsor and includes an onsite race-day pickup location at Hog's Back Park.
