About the Event
The Great Big Cookie Run is a sporting event held at Lansdowne Park that welcomes participants of all ages and experience levels. Runners, walkers, and those using mobility devices can participate in this community oriented race where the primary highlight is receiving Girl Guide cookies both on the course and at the finish line.
The event offers two main distances:
- 5 km: open to adults and youth (ages 12-24).
- 1 km: specifically for children aged 5 to 12.
Participants are encouraged to take part in a Halloween costume contest for a chance to win prizes. A "Green Bib" registration option is available for those who wish to forgo a finishing medal in exchange for a donation to the official charity partner, Girl Guides of Canada. This organization focuses on building confidence and life skills for girls through outdoor adventures and various educational programs.
Registration includes professional race timing with chip results, a personalized race bib, and post-race snacks and beverages. Optional commemorative items, such as a technical race shirt and an iTab ribbon hanger, are also available.
Due to road closures on the Queen Elizabeth Driveway during the event, street parking is located in the surrounding Lansdowne Park area. The course is centralized at Lansdowne Park, providing an accessible venue for the festivities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
