The Great American Race - Visalia, CA

The Great American Race is a July 4 event held at Riverway Sports Park with portions run on the paved trails along the St. Johns Trail. The event includes in-person and virtual options and identifies as the sixth annual Classic Event.

The 5K and 10K are chip timed. The course is lined with American flags and the National Anthem is sung before the racing starts. The program includes a costume contest and a spirit award, age group awards plus overall winner awards, and a finisher medallion. Participants may choose a tank top or a tech shirt option. Hot dogs and cold refreshments are provided on site, and race photos are available as free downloads.

Packet pickup is scheduled at local locations in Visalia and Fresno the day before the event, with an additional pickup at Riverway Sports Park on the morning of the event. The 10K is listed as a 10 point race in the Classic Runner of the Year Series. The event partners with the Visalia Veterans Memorial District as its charity partner.
