The Governor's Cup
The Governor's Cup is a multi-day road race weekend held in Columbia, South Carolina, first established in 1973. The weekend program centers on Main Street and includes several distinct races and combined entry options.
Distances featured during the weekend include:
- 13.1 Miles Half Marathon
- 3.1 Miles 5K
- 1 Mile Main Street Mile
- 1 Mile Kids' Main Street Mile
The Main Street Mile is a down-and-back course through the heart of the city and includes competitive fields. The Kids' Main Street Mile is open to Midlands children age 14 and under. Combo entries are offered for participants who choose to run both a longer race and the 1 Mile event; combo participants receive a single race shirt at packet pick-up.
Course surroundings in Columbia include rolling hills and tree-lined streets. The event weekend also coincides with downtown activities such as art, live entertainment, cultural events and shopping, which take place around the race course.
