The Golden 6 Hour
The Golden 6 Hour is a six hour timed trail event held on October 10, 2026, on the Swauk Forest Discovery Trail near the top of Blewett Pass. The course is a single-track loop of 2.45 miles that passes through varied woods and mountain viewpoints and includes roughly 650 feet of elevation gain per loop. The event field is capped at 85 runners.
The aid station follows a fall theme and operates as a potluck; leftover food is given away or donated to the Food Bank. The event includes a raffle, awards for the most loops completed, and an award for the runner with the most "Golden" spirit. A post-race dinner option is offered at Flying Horseshoe Ranch as an additional choice.
Past editions date back to 2022, the inaugural year when 77 runners started and 59 beanies were distributed. Organizers note contingency plans for severe weather, wildfires, or poor air quality that could move activity to an alternate course at Flying Horseshoe Ranch. Dogs are allowed at the start and finish area but are not permitted on course. Spectators are permitted but may be asked to park approximately half a mile from the start/finish area. A Northwest Forest Pass is required for parking at the trailhead.
