The Freedom 5K
The Freedom 5K is an annual running event held in Pickerington, Ohio, as part of the Picktown Palooza celebration. The event is centered at Victory Park on Lockville Road and utilizes the local surrounding community infrastructure.
The course covers a total distance of 3.1 miles (5 km). The route begins at Victory Park and transitions onto the bike path that leads through Sycamore Creek Park. Participants then follow the course onto Hereford Drive and Pickering Drive. The race features a turnaround point on Pickering Drive, where runners repeat the route in reverse back to the finish line at Victory Park.

Participants receive several items with their registration, including a specialized dog tag and access to chip timing with live results. Those who register by June 15 are also provided with a race t-shirt and a 3-day admission pass to the Picktown Palooza festival.
Awards are presented at the finish line area for the top three male and female finishers overall. Additionally, awards are designated for the top male and female runners in various age categories, including 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and up.
