Event
The First Step 5K is scheduled for January 3, 2026 in Bedford, Indiana. The event is a 5 kilometer run and walk that is presented as part of the Bedford race series. Organizers state the event will help sponsor Bertha’s Mission, an organization that provides food to people in the local community.
Course and entries
The course is described as beginning at the Bedford Square, winding through the northern part of the city, and finishing at the Downtown Depot. Race headquarters is at the Downtown Depot, 1401 J Street, Bedford, IN 47421. Entry fee is listed as $25 with an increase occurring in late December 2025. Race shirts are guaranteed to the first 100 registrants. Awards are planned for the top three finishers in each age group.
